I did about 5-6 miles on the Clockwork today, but I’m wishing I had been along on this ride. Thankfully the chainline issue appears to not be incredibly serious as I’m still alive (no endos caused by spontaneous derailing). Hopefully the there’s a trick to fix it, as I’m a little nervous with what appears to be a 5mm line difference.
In other news - I can’t do any nifty fixie tricks yet - even pedaling backwards is rather difficult. I’m hoping to learn the Sheldon Brown Dismount by the end of the week. I’m still sometimes forgetting that I HAVE to keep pedaling - at least twice I tried to coast and almost got launched out of the seat. Posting over bumps is especially challenging. Despite all this, I’m really pleased with the simplicity of the bike and I think in a couple of weeks it’ll be my main around town bike
If anyone has any nifty ideas on fixing a chainline issue, let me know. The cog needs to move towards the frame (as opposed to the hub) about 3-6mm.
